Therapy Services
I provide 50-minute sessions through telehealth, or in-person at my office in Dupont Circle, DC. Most of my clients attend weekly sessions at a regularly scheduled time, though we will work together to find a cadence that works best for you. During our first couple of sessions, we will work together to identify your needs and goals, developing a treatment plan together.

Individual Therapy
For those that come to therapy with symptoms of anxiety, depression, OCD, or relationship challenges, we will start by figuring out what your goals are and how you would like to focus on them. I typically utilize a combination of evidence-based practices. This includes polyvagal theory, which focuses on your nervous system’s response to the world around you, mindfulness techniques, and internal family systems “parts” work (understanding the different parts that make up who you are). During sessions, we will focus on understanding your past, your body, and how to feel more in control of your present and future.

Trauma-Focused Therapy
I am trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and have many years of experience working with post-traumatic stress disorder and complex trauma. EMDR is an evidence-based model that has proven to be very helpful for those struggling with the effects of traumatic experiences. EMDR sessions are more structured, and focused on a technique called bi-lateral stimulation, where each lobe of the brain is alternately stimulated. Some clients also benefit from the incorporation of EMDR techniques into basic individual therapy sessions, including imagery exercises and resourcing techniques.

College Students and Transitions
The years spent in college bring a unique set of challenges for many people, and often a university’s student services cannot meet long-term mental health needs. That’s why I focus a portion of my practice on working with college students attending schools in DC, Maryland, or Virginia. Often sessions focus on symptoms of anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, motivation with schoolwork, and routines. I also work with many individuals who have recently graduated and are experiencing difficulty with transitioning into life after college.
